It took us three weeks to pick our timing. In the end the window was probably going to be a week but could be shorter so we left before the swell had died down.

As foretold by the wise in Hong Kong we had a bumpy and confused sea with the swell and wind wave working 2-3 m until we came off the shelf after 24 hours of sailing.

We then had to thread our way between the Chinese offshore platforms the second night trying to keep clear of their stand by boats.

The third day it warmed up and we had a pleasant reach into land.

Viviane got to appreciate the limitations of cooking offshore but was not sea sick.

We caught a 4 kg Tuna and a 3 kg Mahi Mahi which went mainly to Sashimi. The 15kg got caught on camera on deck but thrashed it's way back offshore.
