Vic worked for 20 years in Manila in an electroplating shop as a foreman. He met his wife Rose in Manilla. They have they had three children.

Manilla was tough and he was often ill there so he retired early at 60 and set up on Cullion Island  in Halsey Harbour. At the time Marcos was distributing land parcels to settlers and rehousing families that were being moved off Calluit where he was building a safari park.

Their house consists of a small living area built on bamboo stilts over the high water in the mangroves of the inlet to the north of the property. This area is where they keep his and her bankas.

The whole property is built up and terraced with beautiful dry stone walling and on the beach on the south side they have a large walled off sea area that they are using to bring up turtles that have been accidentally caught by fishermen before releasing them.

Looking at the quantity of stone it is hard to imagine he has had much of a retirement moving it all but now as Vic reaches 87 years he is looking for a less labour intensive life where they can travel a bit. This is why they would like to sell.

The terraces are planted out and two areas have been left to gravel for guests to set up their tents. They have regular paying visitors from the bangka tours between El Nido and Coron.

There are five churches in Halsey that serve a large spectrum of christian denominations.
